Delivering a detail-driven YOLK retail fit-out within a compact footprint
The project involved the design and build of a new retail space for YOLK, requiring bespoke joinery, a custom kitchen, and continuous design development to align with brand standards and operational requirements.
A major challenge was integrating a new mechanical system within a compact footprint while maintaining aesthetic integrity. Tight programme deadlines and coordination with building management added complexity, particularly for service routes and compliance with landlord requirements.
Balancing technical functionality with YOLK’s visual identity demanded meticulous planning and collaboration across design and delivery teams.
Challenge
MGL implemented a structured construction programme to meet strict handover deadlines, prioritising critical elements such as kitchen installation and bespoke joinery. Design precision was essential to achieve both operational efficiency and brand aesthetics.
Service integration posed significant challenges, requiring innovative routing solutions to accommodate mechanical systems without compromising the interior design. Close coordination with building management ensured compliance and smooth approvals.
This disciplined approach enabled timely completion, delivering a functional, visually aligned space that met YOLK’s brand standards and operational goals.
