MGL was appointed to deliver the full fit-out of a new Joe & The Juice café at the Brunswick Centre in Bloomsbury, London. The project required a high-quality finish, strong attention to detail, and a smooth delivery programme — ensuring the space met Joe & The Juice brand standards while supporting fast-paced daily service.
Located within a busy mixed-use development, the Brunswick Centre site brought its own challenges. With neighbouring occupiers and ongoing public footfall, the project needed careful planning, well-managed logistics, and strong coordination with the wider team. MGL managed this process from start to finish, keeping the programme on track while maintaining quality throughout.
Full fit-out delivery from start to finish
Spanning approximately 2,000 square feet, the project involved a full internal fit-out to take the space from an empty unit to a fully operational café.
Works included constructing the internal layout, installing all required building services, and completing the final finishes such as flooring, tiling and specialist paintwork. The space was delivered ready for opening, with a smooth handover process and all works completed in line with the required standards.
Throughout the build, MGL worked closely with the wider project team to ensure the café reflected Joe & The Juice’s distinctive style while also functioning efficiently for staff behind the counter.
Bespoke joinery and customer-facing finishes
A key feature of the project was the manufacture and installation of bespoke joinery, including the main counter and bar area — the centrepiece of the café both visually and operationally.
The layout was carefully planned to support smooth service, with front-of-house and back-of-house areas designed to keep workflows efficient while maintaining a clean and welcoming appearance for customers.
New tiled flooring was installed throughout, along with timber panelling and decorative wall finishes that reinforce the brand’s contemporary, urban feel. Exposed ceilings and visible services were completed in line with the design intent, creating an industrial look while still feeling sharp and considered.
Delivering in a live environment
Working within the Brunswick Centre required a well-managed approach to daily site operations. Deliveries, waste removal and contractor movements were carefully planned to minimise disruption and maintain steady progress.
MGL also coordinated closely with building management to ensure the works were delivered compliantly and without unnecessary delays, keeping the project moving while maintaining the expected finish and presentation.
